Old-fashioned cleaning (flooding)
antique or modern carpets.

At least every five years a professional cleaning and threshing is required.
Indeed, the main destructive agents are sand, earth and moisture. The fine particles seep to the base of the carpet and scratch the strands of wool that break when the carpet is walked on.
Once a year, the best way to dust a carpet is to turn it over, pile against the ground where it is for a good 2 weeks and don't hesitate to walk on it.
This will have the effect of loosening the dust packed in the structure and will effectively promote the dust removal that you will do with a vacuum cleaner.
You then brush the structure with water and an ammonia cap.
It is advisable to clean stains as quickly as possible, because the older they are, the more difficult it is to remove them.
he fringes are an extension of the warp threads. The warp is made of vertical and parallel threads, usually cotton, stretched between the two ends of the loom.
It is the most fragile part of the carpet that must be watched over.
If it starts to wear out or tear, do not wait as it can attack or cause greater problems to the knotting part.
Carpets are made of natural materials and are therefore perishable. This is why deterioration seems inevitable, even on the best-maintained carpets: the pile wears out, the fringes come off, the edges come off or come loose. An intervention by our restorers is indispensable.
