Tapestry of Aubusson
Aubusson tapestry woven in wool and silk depicting "The False Princess of Micomicon comes to beg" after Coypel. Charles-Antoine (1694-1752).
"Don Quixote" tells the story of a gentleman from La Mancha in Spain who goes mad after reading too many chivalry romances. Believing himself to be a wandering knight, Don Quixote sets off on adventures with his faithful squire, Sancho Panza.
The tapestry is located at the Château de Compiègne - Louvre Deposit, INV. 3559. Our house ensures a well-cleaned tapestry, in good condition with its hanging system. If necessary, we will specify the work that has been done. All our tapestries are sold with an approved invoice and expertise and can be presented to you at your home in France and neighboring countries before your final decision.
