This tapestry woven in wool and silk is part of the Odyssée d'Ulysse series created by the Aubusson upholsterers in the second half of the 17th century. The model presented is all the more interesting because it represents the end of the Greek hero's Odyssey, in an idealized context (far from the bloody massacre of the contenders) welcomed triumphantly by his court, with a crown of laurels, and in particular by his wife Penelope. We will also note the presence of a dog rising, with a particularly alert look, likely reference to the dog named "Argos", who, at first contact had recognized his master Ulysses, after his long 20-year odyssey, immortalized by Homer.
