René Fuméron (1921-2004)
René Fuméron (1921-2004) is an established artist, best known for his tapestries woven at the Aubusson and Gobelins factories. He studied at the Ecole des Arts Appliqués and then at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
He initially devoted himself to wall decoration, wallpapers, fabrics, posters, etc., and from 1949 onwards created numerous tapestry cartoons. He works for the State and private companies.
He painted nature. The dominant themes of his paintings are water, fire and vegetation.
