Tapestry of the Aubusson Manufacture woven in wool and silk around 1650.
Original border and size, in excellent condition.
Description: Fleeing while turning his head towards the burning city, Aeneas stands in the centre of the stage, in military dress and a beast skin cape, his old father Anchise worn on his back, draped in a large coat holding the protective penate gods of the home under his arm, his son Ascagne in a short tunic at his side following the step, a spear in hand.
